In light of the ongoing efforts to bring Africa to the forefront of economic development, the Turkish – African Cooperation (TAC) kicked-off its first meeting on the 27th of April, 2015 in Kampala, Uganda. Uganda, the pearl of Africa, hosted the inaugural meeting in the presence of Mr. Ahmed El Wakil – Chairman of the Union of African Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture, and Professions (UACCIAP), Mr. Refaat Hisarciklioglu – President of TOBB, Mr. Morlaye Diallo – President of Guinee Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Olive Zaytoun Kigongo – President of Uganda Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Moussa Sidi Mohamed – President of Niger Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The TAC was born out of the need to serve the African and Turkish business communities in finding the right partnerships in connecting their respective trade and investment resources and to actively promote their multilateral activities and economic development.
The meetings held in Kampala, Uganda are the first of a series of meetings scheduled in 2015 that will highlight the parties’ main points of interest. The TAC will further solidify its upcoming objectives during the World Chambers Congress that will be held from 10-12 June, 2015 in Torino.
